Thierry Saegeman - Directeur Général Adjoint Transformation & Géographies


Thierry Saegeman is CEO of ENGIE Electrabel since May 2021 and Electrabel’s Chief Nuclear Officer since October 2016. ENGIE announces the appointment, as of January 1, 2024, of Thierry Saegeman as Executive Vice President of the Group, in charge of Transformation & Geographies.
Before that, Thierry worked as Executive Vice President of Compagnie Nationale du Rhône in Lyon and Managing Director of Engie Thermique France in Paris.
Through his career and next to nuclear power and combined cycles, Thierry developed, constructed, operated and maintained all kinds of power generation technologies that contribute to CO2 reduction and a better climate, such as combined heat and power, biomass units, onshore and offshore windfarms, hydro and solar plants and hydrogen projects.
He holds a Master degree in Engineering from the University of Ghent, an Executive Master in Business Administration from the Vlerick Leuven-Ghent Management School. He also holds a post graduate in nuclear reactor technology from MIT.
